Shore Mechanic II

Job description

The Shore Mechanic coordinates and performs maintenance and repairs on the non-engineered vessels as directed ensuring vessels are properly maintained in seaworthy condition. This role assists with the daily operations of the facility and provides instruction to trades persons and sub-contractors working onsite. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 10 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. What you'll do: - Assists with daily operations of responsible facility, including organization, scheduling (vessels, people, resources) and monitoring of the facility operations as well as the maintenance of the facility. Ensures proper organization and effective implementation of service schedules causing a minimum down time on the vessels. - Responds to troubleshooting requests. Provides initial diagnosis to the problem and determines the priority and suitable solution weighing in the effects on crew safety and possibility of further equipment damage. - Visits the vessel onsite or arranges an on-call repair person to inspect and repair the issue. - Performs repair inspections and determines repair solutions including scope, method, budget and timing o...
