Description The University of Chicago’s Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology, seeks general pediatricians to join our multidisciplinary care team at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital NICU as full-time Clinical Associates. Appointees will provide neonatal services at one or more of our level II nurseries in the University of Chicago Medicine system. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications. Appointees will collaborate with a dynamic team of neonatologists to provide superior and compassionate care. Our hospitalists work as a team member on one of our clinical services, delivering care to a variety of sick newborns, alongside neonatal nurse practitioners, pediatric residents, nutritionists, and neonatal pharmacists, all of whom are providing care under the supervision of the attending neonatologist. Daily patient care encompasses pre-rounding on patients, presenting patients on rounds, writing orders, dealing with clinical problems as they arise, as well as speaking with parents and consultants.
