Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES: The SQL Database Manager is expected to be able to accomplish the following: - Engineering & Administration: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (on‑prem and/or cloud), including HA/DR (Always On Availability Groups, log shipping), backup/restore, patching, and capacity planning. - Performance & Reliability: Monitor and tune databases—index strategy, execution plans, I/O and memory optimization; implement baselines and health dashboards. - Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee schema changes, environment promotions, and release coordination through change management (Dev/Test/Prod) with version control and automation. - Security & Compliance: Implement and audit RBAC, encryption at rest/in transit, auditing, and STIG‑driven hardening aligned to DoD policies and tenant security guidelines for TS/SCI environments. - Scripting & Automation: Build administrative scripts (T‑SQL, PowerShell) for maintenance, compliance checks, and repeatable deployments. - Continuity & DR: Define and test RPO/RTO objectives; validate backups, restores, and failover procedures through regular exercises. - Data Quality & Integrity: Enforce...
