What you will be doing: - Inexperienced benchmen start learning to work safely in the saw production environment - May set up and operate alternately more than one type of machine or tool - Use hammers ranging from 2#-8#, stretcher rolls, plate leveling machines, gauge grinders and hammer grinders etc. - Ability to use hammer without damaging the saw - Set-up and operate all available machine tools - Perform progressive operations on work involving close tolerances or unusual requirements - Perform quality checks - Wear PPE - Perform complex operations in support of production under limited supervision - Additional duties as assigned - Use calipers and micrometers, must understand fractions and dec...
