Position Function: Provides consultation and referral services for the Animal Health Center. Salary Grade : 14: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Area of Specialization: Large Animal Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinates and directs all activities relating to referring and consulting veterinarians. 2. Serves as initial contact point for veterinarians that call for consultation or referral services regarding diagnosis and treatment of patients. 3. Answers or directs veterinary protocol questions. 4. Handles a heavy volume of lengthy phone calls to determine specific medical services, including consulting requests with appropriate clinicians. 5. Determines the appropriate hospital faculty or staff member for each consultation request or referral appointment and follows up to ensure communication has been made. 6.
