Job description
The mission of the ACS Education and Career Development unit is to serve learners and educators by building communities and providing effective chemistry education products, services, and information. The unit provides programs and services for teachers and students from kindergarten through graduate school. The Student Experiences office oversees the ACS Scholarship portfolio, Project SEED, and LEADS programming, ensuring deliverables, providing professional development and mentorship opportunities, and cross-collaborating with other ACS units and external partners. ACS Scholarships Portfolio is a renewable portfolio of scholarships for undergraduates in the chemical sciences. Project SEED is a high school summer research fellowship program designed for students from low-income households. LEADS is a 3-day event focused on preparing high-potential early-career professionals and students for successful and impactful careers in the chemical enterprise. This event brings together highly esteemed chemists, scientists, professionals, and Nobel Laureates for networking, self-reflection, career exploration, mentoring, and technical discussions.
