Title: Academic Assistance Center (Tutor and Clerical Temporary Part-Time) Institution: Jackson State Community College: Job Summary: Tutors work one-on-one and with groups of students to help them learn an academic subject or a specific skill. Job Duties: - Must effectively communicate with students to help them learn complex subject-matter while maintaining their professionalism. - Tutors should be organized and patient communicators with a friendly and approachable disposition that lends itself to work with students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. - Tutoring sessions are typically scheduled for an hour. Minimum Qualifications: Successfully completed the course which will be tutored with an A or high B. Pay Rate : Starting pay is $10.00. Pay is increased based on experience and level of degree obtained. Schedule/Hours : No more than 29 hours may be worked a week (hours depend on budget availability and need).
