Position Overview The primary purpose of this position is to support Dr. Lewellyn in the research being conducted in her lab. In addition to planning and executing experiments related to Dr. Lewellyn’s research aims, the research assistant will help with general lab maintenance and mentoring of undergraduate research students. This is an on-site, in-person position, Monday through Friday. Please submit a cover letter and resume for full consideration. Responsibilities: - Fly maintenance and husbandry - General lab maintenance – media and solution preparation, autoclaving, stock maintenance, monitoring lab inventory, help develop and maintain databases of bacterial, plasmid, and fly stocks - Perform basic lab experiments (fly genetics, molecular biology, basic biochemistry, immunofluorescence, quantitative image analysis) - Train and supervise undergraduate student researchers on lab techniques or data analysis - Maintain a detailed lab notebook - Develop and troubleshoot lab protocols Required Qualifications: - B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field - 2+ years research experience - Experience with Excel - Strong organizational and communication skills Preferred Qualifica...
