Where you’ll work: Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office. How you’ll contribute: As an Accounting Consultant, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Derivative accounting team and associated reporting for Brighthouse Financial’s investments in derivative instruments. The company uses derivatives to manage its exposures to changes in interest rates, foreign currency exchange rates, equity markets and credit risk across its diverse investment portfolio as well as hedging liabilities. Some of these derivatives are designated as qualifying hedges for GAAP and STAT and have special documentation and accounting requirements. In this role, you’ll get to: - Prepare derivatives disclosures in the 10-K, 10-Q, QFS, and stand-alone audited financial statements on a GAAP & Statutory basis. - Support preparation of Statutory Blue Book investment derivative schedules. - Assist with preparing journal entries for derivative accounting. - Assist management in monthly preparation and review of reconciliations. - Assist management in implementation of new accounting pronouncements impacting derivatives. - Support management’s initiative to expand or impl...
