The Hood College Department of Sociology and Social Work, housed in the Ruth Whitaker Holmes School of Behavioral and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track social work position beginning in January 2027 or August 2027. The Department awards a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The Department is committed to building a culturally diverse educational environment, with a focus on diversifying the faculty. We are seeking faculty who have a demonstrated ability, or strong potential for success, in teaching across our generalist social work curriculum while contributing to the diversity and excellence in our programs and courses through their research, teaching, and service. The ideal candidate will have field education experience, prior teaching experience, and two or more years post-master’s social work practice experience. The position requires the equivalent of 21 teaching credits per year.
