Engineering Technician

Job description

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Engineering Technician provides technical support to the applicable engineering program in estimating, designing, preparing technical drawings, and developing prototypes. The Engineering Technician participates in the sales process, sales support and special projects as needed. JOB DUTIES: - Responsible for design of electrical control panels, programming and troubleshooting of OEM equipment, controls and automation solutions. - Assists with engineering projects, communicating requirements, establishing timelines, and coordinating activities with customer requirements. - Responsible for power distribution layout, design and details. - Responsible for electrical design and detail, including wiring diagrams and schematics. - May train plant personnel on proper usage and preventative maintenance of equipment and control systems. - Creates Bill of Material and specify manufacturer part numbers. - Performs fieldwork, start up and engineering calculations. - Develops basic written functional job specifications if not provided by customer. - Participates in joint sales calls with branch staff or directly at accounts to present our capabilities, iden...
