Schedule Part Time: 20 Hours / Weekly Hours: Shifts between the hours of 1pm - 7am based on Department Needs Every 4th - 6th Weekend Required - schedule based on Department Needs General Summary: Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Coaches and mentors the Lactation Consultant I. The Lactation Consultant (LC) functions to enhance the normal process of lactation and to assess, prevent, and manage lactation problems. The LC is a health care provider who is qualified to provide education and consultation for routine and special circumstances related to breastmilk feeding. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: - Meets all expectations of the Lactation Consultant I. - Coaches and mentors the Lactation Consultant I in developing and coordinating the case load and their breastfeeding plans of care (BF p.o.c.).
