TITLE: Groundskeeper DEPARTMENT: Facilities: REPORTS TO: Grounds/ Housekeeping Manager: CLASSIFICATION: Staff-12 months: EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD: STANDARD WORK HOURS: 40 hours p er week EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time: EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt: J OB SUMMARY: Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building. Plants flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains outside of building. Primary responsibilities Landscape and/or maintain grounds of University using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortar less segmental concrete masonry wall units Facilities Department employees are considered “essential employees.” A s such, all facilities employees are required to report for work during eme rgencies as well as university closures.
