Position Summary: This position performs a range of clerical assignments for maximum efficiency in the office, with the primary function being the organization and maintenance of medical examiner case files. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, accepting subpoenas, preparing correspondence pertaining to case files, database inquiries, receiving and relaying telephone messages, fax transmittals, and general filing. Understanding medical terminology is indicated in this position. - Organizes medical examiner case filing system and maintains record files and archives including records off site; - Uploads documents into the case in database and sees that all case materials and documents in the appropriate case file and keeps files current; - Accepts and processes subpoenas, serves as a liaison between the court and doctor, with communication in a timely and accurate manner; - Serves as Custodian of Records; - Complies with requests for copies of records in accordance with policy; - Receives telephone inquiries to the Medical Examiner's Office and routes calls to appropriate personnel as needed; - Forensic database (DIDI) searches for retrieval of information; - Uses TN Stat...
