Job description

Description The Department of Physics at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in experimental atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics. We encourage candidates with a proven track record of research in trapped ions, quantum sensing, ultracold quantum gases, quantum information science (QIS), or quantum optics to apply. We especially encourage applications from candidates who can form collaborations with the department’s AMO and condensed matter physics groups, all of which have significant research emphasis on QIS. The successful candidate is expected to attract extramural research funding, publish scholarly articles, and teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels. As a Carnegie-R1 comprehensive research university, OSU offers ample opportunities to the new hire to develop a research-intensive career. In addition to AMO physics, the physics department has strong research programs in biological physics, condensed matter physics, high energy physics, and radiation physics. The Department of Physics is part of the College of Arts and Sciences, OSU’s largest and most diverse college, which is home to 24 acade...
