IT Support Technician

Job description

This position reports to the Director of Information and Multimedia Technology and is primarily responsible for maintenance and installation of computers, printers, and network components including cabling for the main DSCC campus, remote centers and DSCC supported agencies. Duties and Responsibilities: - Identify hardware/software problems by reading technical manuals, research on the internet, and communicating with product technical support specialists. - Resolve problems with computers, printers, network devices, and cables by replacing components. - Install operating systems and application software on computers to correct/fix problems as appropriate. - Install and test new computers (including student labs), network devices, printers, and network cables. - Install and support classroom technology. - Research and make recommendations for purchase of hardware and parts. - Answer user questions related to software and hardware. - Travel routinely to the other DSCC locations to ensure all locations are being supported. - Assist other Information Technology staff to ensure that the institution’s IT resources fully support the objectives of the institution.
