Located at Miami Valley Hospital's Flow Cytometry Department (Dayton, OH) Full-Time Day Shift (8:00 AM-4:30 PM) Position Summary: The Technical Assistant will perform various tasks in assigned department area which may include, but is not limited to specimen handling/processing and preparation, instrument loading, quality control and supply management. All activities performed are within the associate’s scope of training and are under the guidance of technical staff. Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Perform processing functions to include receipt, distribution, lab preparation and storage of specimens. - Perform maintenance and set up of laboratory instrumentation. - Prepare bulk reagents. - Perform pre-analytical processes of testing and load specimens onto laboratory instruments. - Operate laboratory instrumentation independently within scope of training and recognizes instrument and equipment malfunctions. - Assist in review of pending logs and follow-up to ensure testing is completed in a timely manner. - Data entry of testing orders into various software entities. - Stock inventory as needed for day to day department operation. - Perform daily/weekly/monthly temperature, ey...
