Job description

1:30p -10:00p -rotating every third weekend Summary: Under the guidance of the Lead Clinical Laboratory Aide, Phlebotomy Supervisor and/or Director performs phlebotomy and pre-analytic processing of specimens received in the laboratory. Interacts professionally with patients, clients, and co-workers throughout the organization. Accurately performs all tasks associated with processing of specimens from receipt through appropriate distribution to the testing areas. Interacts professionally with patients, clients, and co-workers throughout the organization. Maintains integrity of collected samples at the proper temperature and does minimal processing of collected samples. Performs more specialized duties related to dispatch, order entry, phlebotomy, referrals, specimen setup, processing and testing functions, testing, quality measures and special studies. Performs CLIA waived and moderately complex patient testing as well as inoculates microbiology media for culture. Education: High school or equivalent (GED) required; associate degree in science preferred. Certification, Registration & Licensure: None.
