Job description

Functions as a part of the surgical service. Provides care to patients under the direction of an RN and/or Physician in the Intra Operative phase utilizing experience, knowledge of equipment and instrumentation to ensure the best possible outcomes. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist/CRNA continuously and as needed about patient condition. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Assesses operating room equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual procedures and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operation team are met. Assists in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Technical Skills - Capable of trouble shooting equipment problems. - Verbalizes knowledge of risks and complications. - Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. - Demonstrates awareness of protocol for malfunctioning equipment and repair. - Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies based on surgeon preference. - Selects equipment and supplies in an organized, cost eff...
