Overview The roles and responsibilities of the Critical Care Paramedic include personal safety and thesafety of others, patient assessment and emergency care; safe lifting and moving, patienttransport and transfer, record keeping and data collection, and patient advocacy. A Critical CareParamedic must demonstrate leadership qualities; play a role in mentoring by teaching andproviding feedback to other Paramedics/EMT’s. Must be qualified to care for high acuity patientswhile demonstrating exceptional patient care skills. Must have the ability to effectivelycommunicate with physicians and other agencies/departments.
