Medical Assistant Job Functions: The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication/vaccine administration, phlebotomy, collecting specimens, performing diagnostic screening tests, sterilizing/cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system.
