Job Summary The Patient Sitter is responsible for continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients through a non-recording video monitoring system Reports to: Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: - Continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients by acting as a 1-1 physical sitter - Observe potentially life threatening risk behaviors exhibited by suicidal patients; Verbally redirect patient behaviors while notifying nursing staff for assistance - Monitor patient environment for potential safety hazards, including but not limited to sharp objects and items that could potentially be used for harm - Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times - Participate in hand-off information and patient behavior issues to the next shift.
