Job description

GCI's Accountant II will work as an integral member of the General Ledger Accounting team, participate in the monthly general ledger close, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Provide direct and indirect support for all business departments within GCI and subsidiaries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS: Internal Control Considerations: Oracle General Ledger module as well as other Oracle modules as needed to perform basic job function. This module access will come with varying levels of responsibility and include: Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Management, Cash Management, Receivables, Payables, Purchasing, Inventory, etc. Specific accesses will be determined according to the particular position to be filled. Responsible for following all internal control policies and procedures. COMPETENCIES: - Efficient and accurate reconciliation of high volume and/or complex balance sheet accounts including maintenance of related spreadsheets, preparation of related journal entries, and review of subledger data. - Preparation of monthly recurring journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close processes. - Research G/L and subledger related questions and prepare correc...
