Job description

Under direct supervision of the registered nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients. Education Knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through an accredited school of nursing. Experience: One-year acute care experience preferred: Skills: · Interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and written) are required in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel and maintain appropriate/adequate documentation. · Ability to perform and plan professional nursing care resolving complex patient care problems and dealing with patients and their families often during stressful situations. Licensures , Certifications: · Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Licensed Practical Nurse. · Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification) – not required for Hospice employee. Physical Requirements: · Ability to stand and walk almost constantly (up to 90% of work time) and occasionally (up to 50% of work time) lifting and positioning patients.
