Backend Engineer – Access Routing & Trust (ART)

Job description

Every request that reaches NN — and there are millions every day — first passes through the platform we build. As a Backend Engineer in the Access Routing & Trust (ART) team, you operate at the edge of our IT landscape, where traffic, security, and performance come together. We decide what gets in, what gets blocked, and exactly where each request needs to go across a diverse environment of cloud and on-premise systems. But this role goes beyond routing traffic. Our platform plays a key role in connecting new and existing applications across AWS, private cloud, and Azure environments. This means working with both modern architectures and established systems, solving real integration challenges, and handling edge cases that don’t have textbook solutions. At the same time, we are in the middle of a significant transition. We are moving away from a self-built, on-premise solution towards a modern, cloud-native platform.
