Job description

Job Summary Under the supervision of an RN, LVN, physician assistant or physician, ensure quality patient care in clinic setting. Registers patients and inputs data in computer system, vital signs and health screening. Able to schedule, with good phone and customer service skills. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment. Provides appropriate, direct patient care in assigned area(s). Takes patient's vital signs and provides personal care to patients. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress. Ensures accurate maintenance of patient's medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. Provides health care instruction to patient and family members.
