Description The Middlebury College Summer Arabic School is pleased to announce a vacancy for a temporary Instructor of Arabic. The position is available during the summer 2022 session, located on the Bennington College campus in Bennington Vermont. Our unique 8-week program combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and leading cocurricular activities with students while reading, writing and speaking exclusively in Arabic. We are looking for experienced faculty who have extensive teaching experience in Arabic as a second or foreign language, including teaching aspects of Arab culture and society. This may include poetry, literature, art, music, etc. Dates to be on campus = June 20 - August 21. Lodging and meals will be provided. Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess at least a MA or PhD (ABD with strong credentials may also be considered), strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated success working as a member of an instructional team.
