Company: GFL Environmental Job Title: Landfill Operator: Location: Castlegar, BC: Job Type: Full-Time: GFL Environmental is seeking a dependable Landfill Operator for our Castlegar site. In this role, you will safely operate and maintain heavy equipment to process and load waste materials while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment (excavator, front-loader, baler, bulldozer, compactor, forklift) to bale, move, and load waste. Maintenance & Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip inspections, check fluids, grease components, and clear debris from equipment tracks. Site Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility and grounds. Teamwork & Safety: Coordinate with co-workers via two-way radio, attend safety meetings, and step in for team members as needed. Requirements & Qualifications: Certifications: Forklift certification is required; ability to obtain a Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification.
