Department: Security: Shift/schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk): GENERAL SUMMARY: The Security Officer works under the supervision of the Security Manager, and such other supervisors as designated by the Security Manager, to protect Medical Center property and ensure the safety of patients, visitors and employees by patrolling the buildings and grounds to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents and performing other duties as assigned. Education: Licensure: Experience: - High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required - Basic Police training or Private Security Officer training from the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council or an equivalent program of specialized training preferred - BMVL required (Must maintain eligibility to drive as determined by SOMC's insurance carriers) - Must be certified in Taser within 180 days of employment. Taser certification requires training in Self-Defense, Crisis Intervention, and De-Escalation techniques. - BLS within 90 days of hire required - One year of security, law-enforcement, or corr...
