The Paralegal/Legal Assistant I works under close supervision with required assistance readily available. Persons in this position typically perform the following: Qualifications: *Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag. - Review of Case Materials. This includes identifying key facts, hot documents, and witnesses. - Ability to review information from multiple sources and perform data entry duties. This includes using data bases like Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), Comprehensive Case Information System, (CCIS), Pacer, etc. to search for defendant’s criminal history in other state and federal court systems. Gathering all necessary documents related to older cases and analyzing the facts of that case. Includes collecting documents, reviewing, organizing and bate-stamping it.
