Status Part-Time Standard Hours per Week: 32 Job Posting Category: Behavioral Health: Job Posting Description: Position Summary: We are seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to join our Inpatient Psychiatry Unit in Boston, a 16-bed, secure inpatient psychiatric unit. Key Responsibilities: - Monitoring and maintaining safety of patients in accordance with established procedures and protocols. - Maintaining a physically safe environment. Checks and screens items brought into unit. Assisting Registered Nurse to structure and modulate the level of stimulation in the unit. Conducting patient and environmental checks and identifies risk. Reporting identified risk to Registered Nurse. - Supporting and assisting patients with routine activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating - Identifying and reporting changes in behavior that represent unsafe situations. Respectful re-direction of unsafe behavior and limit setting as needed. - Providing skilled therapeutic care, incorporating and applying established behavior management protocols as needed to meet treatment goals and objectives. - Assisting in arranging and conducting group programs and activities. - Developing and maintaining supp...
