Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - LEAD

Job description

The RBT is a credentialed paraprofessional who assists in the implementation of behavior intervention to patients on the Specialized Needs Unit (SNU). As a Lead, this position assists in the planning, facilitating, and evaluating of RBT activities with oversight of unit safety and programming. - Demonstrates a basic understanding of key ABA concepts and techniques; - Monitor patient progress; communicating information regarding patients behavior to other members of treatment team; - May assist in family and caregiver training; - Assesses and reports on behavior program needs regarding materials, staff education, and program curriculum; - Participates in treatment planning: (a) helps identify patient problems, needs, and strengths; b) suggests modifications to treatment plan based on observations of patient's behavior; c) provides input into discharge planning; - Assists Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) in implementing patient treatment plans using the behavior skills training approach: 1) Describe the interventions 2) Demonstrate the interventions 3) Have the MHT demonstrate the intervention 4) Provide feedback in a positive manner; - Encourages and facilitates patients' participat...
