Facility: Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness Department: Mental Health I Schedule: Part time Hours: 24 Job Details: The Mental Health Technician (MHT), functioning under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Mental Health Clinician is responsible for the direct care of mental health patients based on established standards and licensure guidelines. The MHT is responsible for knowledge and modeling of Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care. The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for performing supportive, trauma-informed care to patients/families. Responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, completion of routine safety checks and constant attendance on patients as ordered, ensuring patient safety and adherence to treatment plans. The MHT demonstrates strong therapeutic communication skills, accepts delegated tasks, and possesses the knowledge and understanding to ask pertinent questions and report patient information as indicated, including behavioral changes and mental status updates.
