Job description

Position Title: School Social Worker (SSW) Division: Family & Student Support Services/School Reports To: Director, Social Work Services FLSA Status: Exempt: Salary Schedule: Teacher: Work Days: 190: Qualifications: - Coordinate the assigned schools’ social work program and assure that the implementation of the program is in accordance with local, state, and federal policies, rules and regulations. - Identify and interpret factors causing or contribution to problems affecting students’ performance. - Consult with professional staff about problems affecting students’ performance. - Serve as a liaison between the school and the family. - Make home visits/conduct parent conferences to gather information which may be relevant to students’ school performance. - Provide individual, group and family counseling. - Make referrals to appropriate school and community resources as necessary. - Provide services to resolve issues that may prevent students from having successful school experiences. - Develop cooperative relationships with community agencies such as the Department of Family and Children’s Services, juvenile court, and local mental health facilities. - Provide information and commu...
