Job description

Position Purpose: Responsible for providing comprehensive daily care and oversight of our clients' livestock, ensuring optimal health, nutrition, and overall wellbeing in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities Herdsman: - Assists with heat detection. - Assists with chute work including processing, backgrounding and pregnancy checks. - Provides general daily care to recipient cattle including observing animals for health. - Sorts cattle for heats, syncs, and pregnant cows to go home. - Loads, unloads, and assists with transportation of cattle. - Identifies and sells cull cows. - Enters syncs and heats into Ova Drive data system. - Generates sorting and synchronization lists from Ova Drive data system. - Assists with yard maintenance including but not limited to manure hauling, bedding, feeding, snow removal, box scraping and fencing. Education Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Working conditions are primarily an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures, wind, and muddy conditions.
