Description The University of Chicago’s Department of Microbiology is searching for tenured or tenure-track faculty members at all ranks. We seek applicants pursuing research in any area of microbiology or related areas, but we are particularly interested in scientists whose research programs focus on host-pathogens interactions, viral and bacterial pathogenesis, and emerging infectious diseases. We encourage applications from investigators whose research programs align with the scope and use of the Howard T. Ricketts Laboratory (HTRL) located on the Argonne National Laboratory ( https://htrl.uchicago.edu ). Other responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, with the potential of teaching in the medical school. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. These positions are benefits-eligible.
