Job Summary The Patient Scheduler is responsible for securing and communicating pertinent information needed for scheduling patients for surgery, out-patient procedures, and follow up appointments Reports to: Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: **UMC Cancer Center Patient Schedulers are required to work multiple clinics when needed. - Coordinate with patient and medical staff to determine appropriate timing for scheduling a patient’s procedure - Schedule patient appointments on the computer then notify patients - Follow-up with surgeon, anesthesia, and other medical staff partners to ensure all schedules are aligned - Coordinate surgery slips and room run statistics for up-to-date real time scheduling - Ensure patient rooms are clean, stocked and ready for use - Receive and respond to calls, voicemails, and emails from patients and family members within 24 hours - May be required to escort or direct patients to assigned hospital unit and/or transport patients by wheelchair to patient roo...
