Department Overview Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a nationally prominent research university, and Oregon's only public academic health center. OHSU was awarded Magnet Re-designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2022 . The Medical ICU is a Beacon Award winning unit at OHSU. As a unit we focus on providing both evidence-based and trauma informed care to all our patients. The Medical ICU strives to provide the highest level of nursing care to our patients and families and to ensure patient outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice . We foster a healthy work environment in our team oriented high acuity ICU. . Our MICU offers lots of opportunities for nurses to grow their practice in devices, such as CRRT and ECMO, in addition to frontline leadership roles. The Medical Intensive Care Unit utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to the care we provide to our patients: 40kg weight minimum, age generally not less than 16 years with no upper age limit.
