DEPARTMENT: Laboratory JOB SUMMARY: Provide general assistance to technologists and pathologists to ensure smooth work flow for the entire department. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science preferred. JOB RELATIONSHIPS: - Reports directly to Laboratory Supervisor PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally - Frequently ascend/descend stairs EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED: The omission of specific statements or descriptions does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. ADMINISTRATIVE: PROFESSIONAL: - Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain processors. - Change, load, rotate, clean and maintain staining instrumentation. - Change, load, and maintain coverslipper. - Compare slides to blocks to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches. - Compare slides to requisition forms to ensure case numbers are correct and tissue matches. - Restock supplies as needed. - Dispose of hazardous waste according to procedure. - Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures. - Must be reliable, depen...
