Position Summary: The Sterile Processing Technician I will provide quality processed materials and equipment for safe patient care. Education, License & Cert: High School education or GED required. Must become central sterile processing certified within 18 months of hire to maintain employment. Experience: Must be able to follow detailed written and oral instructions. Must have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the medical staff. Prior experience in the medical/surgical field or manufacturing preferred. Essential Functions: 1. Follows Standard Work in the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, high‐level disinfection, and sterile storage areas to properly handle instruments/equipment to provide safe patient care. Utilizes instrument/equipment manufacturer’s instructions for use when necessary. 2. Communicate and work collaboratively with other staff in the department, as well as other units. Represents the department and hospital in a professional, courteous manner. 3. Attend and participate in departmental in‐services, huddles, and meetings.
