Job description

Job Summary: The Diet Technician 2 provides patients on a specialized diet program the opportunity to select menu items, ensuring that nutritional restrictions and food preferences have been met. Participates in training newly hired Diet Office staff. Attends meetings, in-services and area-specific meetings as required. Participates in weekend and holiday rotation. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Dietetic Technology required. Bachelor's Degree in Food or Nutrition preferred. Minimum one year prior customer service or diet office experience setting highly preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Broad knowledge of nutritional food values, meal planning and therapeutic menu processes. Handling/gripping, speed movements, fine dexterity, hearing, writing and speaking skills necessary for the job. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use calculator, computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
