Description GENERAL SUMMARY: The ASC Registered Nurse OR provides safe, quality patient care in the operating room area. The RN provides care and support to patients before, during and after surgery along with assisting the surgeon and the surgical team in their tasks. Requirements: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. - Prepares operating room for procedure. - Evaluates medical information, and provides direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. - Functions in a scrub and circulating nurse role. - Assists in positioning and responding to comfort / safety of the patient. - Serves as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team. - Provides accurate care and handling of specimens. - Prepares, administers and records prescribed medications. - Communicates preoperative instructions to the patient. - Performs other position related duties as assigned. - Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all ap...
