Full-Time Nights (7p-7a) JOB SUMMARY: Assists with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. Maintains environment that is prepared for patient care. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse or physician. - Takes documents and reports vital signs. Reports abnormal results immediately to the registered nurse. - Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when a patient complains of pain. - Receives and carries out instructions accurately and promptly. All patient care activities are delegated and supervised by the registered nurse. - Transports patients, as necessary. Assists with moving, ambulating and lifting patients. - Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations. - Adheres to hospital policy addressing standard precautions, safety regulations. - Communicates in an effective manner with all coworkers, patients, visitors and physicians. - Responds to patient and visitor questions and needs immediately and appropriately - Maintains patient comfo...
