Description The Lead Mechanic is responsible for overseeing day-to-day repair and maintenance tasks while serving as a working leader within the shop. This role ensures that all equipment and vehicles are maintained to safety and operational standards. The Lead Mechanic provides technical guidance to other technicians, coordinates workflow, and ensures timely completion of repairs to minimize downtime and maintain fleet readiness. Summary of Essential Job Functions: Maintenance & Repair Oversight: - Performs diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment. - Serves as the go-to technical expert for complex repairs and troubleshooting. - Assists with scheduling and assigning repair work to other mechanics based on priority and skill level. - Reviews completed repairs for accuracy and compliance with safety and quality standards. - Maintains proper documentation of repairs, parts used, and service logs in maintenance software.
