CNC Machinist II - 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Machinist 2 operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 1:00am - Mon. - Thurs. Duties/Responsibilities: - Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. - Reads and interprets blueprints. - Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials. - Proficient in the use of measuring instruments. - Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. - Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient. - Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls. - Understands and can function using M and G codes. - Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools. - Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling. - Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets. - Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery. - Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment. - Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department. - Basic understanding and ability to...
