Job description

Summary Creates complex design of VIP aircraft monuments, and mechanisms to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools. Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Greenpoint Core Competencies - Designs complex monuments such as; cabinets, bulkheads, vanities, lavatories, tables, divans, and other payload items. - Designs complex mechanisms for tables, doors, drawers, divans and other moving features. - Analyzes and interprets subsystem and project specifications. - Selects materials for mechanical designs based on structural needs and materials specifications. Evaluates trade-offs in materials, hardness, composites, treatments, coatings, and other selections to best meet design objectives. Works with materials suppliers and material testing when needed. - Applies experience and knowledge and works with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize designs for reduced parts counts, reduced manufacturing costs, reduced assembly error, and other factors affecting production cost and quality. - Understands Bills of Materials, assembly concepts...
