Job description

Description: - Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients in an inpatient and outpatient hospital setting. Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) includes assessment, nutrition diagnosis, and intervention to manage patient care. - Consults with physicians and health care personnel to develop a nutrition plan using the Nutrition Care Process for optimum outcome. - Documents care process in the medical record. Initial assessment, consult and follow up are completed per policy. - Is an MNT resource professional for other personnel or community. - Utilizes effective time management in organizing work load, prioritizing and accomplishing tasks. - Identifies problems, collects data, and takes corrective action for new and/or assigned quality improvement and/or process improvement projects. - May precept the activities of Emory Dietetic Interns under the supervision of a mentor dietitian Level II or higher. - May participate in presentations to local organizations, civic groups, corporations and the media on nutrition related topics. - Confirms diet order, assess appropriateness, implement, manage or adjust diet prescription for oral, enteral nutrition, and/or parenteral nutrition; may write...
