College: SLCC Department: Academic & Student Affairs: Sub department: Student Success Center: Type of Appointment: Unclassified - Tutor Salary: No degree - $10 per hour Associate's degree - $12 per hour Bachelor's degree - $15 per hour Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides intrusive academic and tutorial support in designated courses to participants through one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions. - Provides mentoring and motivational support to participants. - Assists participants with developing the essential study skills for academic success. - Learning sessions may be held virtually at the Academic Success Center or an on-campus location designated by the Associate Director for Academic Success. - Maintains accurate records of learning sessions. - Serves as a role model for all students seeking academic assistance. - Be punctual for all scheduled learning sessions. - Prepares supplemental materials. - Helps procure and organize teaching materials. - Attends tutor training sessions regularly and scheduled staff meetings. - Performs any other related duties as required or assigned to achieve project goals and objectives.
