ESSE NTIAL FUNCTIONS : Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning, administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR) as necessary , cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas of swimming pools, assists teachers in providing swimming instructions to students, may assist teachers in maintaining order in swimming pool areas, may officiate at swimming meets.
