About the Lab: The Booker Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is a dynamic biochemical research group focused on understanding the mechanisms of radical S-adenosylmethionine (rSAM) enzymes and other metalloenzymes involved in complex biochemical transformations. The lab integrates enzymology, structural biology, mechanistic chemistry, and microbial metabolism to uncover how these systems function at the molecular level. In addition to its research mission, the lab maintains strong connections with HHMI and the broader university community, including involvement in training and mentorship initiatives.
